QUARANTAINE was an ephemerous collaboration between Jaroslav Palat and Slavek Kwi, active in the early 80ties in Prague, former Czechoslovakia. “The Strategy of the Cross Cut-Up Piano” was recorded in Prague in 9th November 1985, and originally “self-published” on Kwi’s own “On The Way To The Second Sun” cassette in 1985.

As with other Quarantaine and KWI albums, it has recently been re-released by the CSIndustrial 1982 – 2010 project. You can listen to this ep below or on the project’s Bandcamp page.

“CS Industrial 1982-2010” is an online label, ran by Přemysl Ondra, Čenda Šopek, Michael Borůvka, which has been documenting the Czech and Slovak industrial scene. Focusing on the years 1982- 2010 and related cultural structures, it offers deep insight into the first chapters of Czech and Slovak specific electronic music genres.
